Stay Safe this Christmas
CLUBBERS and Party goers in Manchester are being given some simple safety tips to ensure they enjoy themselves while out in Manchester City Centre this Christmas time .
Phil Burke a spokesman for the Pub and Club Network stated that with thousands of revellers partying in Manchester city centre during the festive season, visitors must remember that "Thieves are operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the city centre and they do target people in the pubs and clubs
Bags / Coats & Mobile
We would urge customers never to leave items unattended. Handbags, mobile phones on tables, coats on backs of chairs as they are all easy pickings for light-fingered thieves. "Always use the venue coat-rooms or ask the bar staff to look after your items."
Taxis
Also to book your taxi in advance -bogus taxis with no insurance or licence will target pubs and clubs, Licence private hire vehicles are not allowed to collect passengers at the roadside, so no matter how much you want to get home don't risk your safety .ensure you have enough money for a taxi home
Public Transport
If your travelling home by bus or tram, check the times -especially the last one , remember to set up a safe and well-lit meeting point in a busy area before going out with friends, outside shops, pubs clubs hotels and restaurant should you get separated from your friends
Try not to travel back home alone on public transport ,remember to sit at the front of the vehicle and avoid any trouble , and always walk away from any trouble its not worth it. Manchester's city centre street angels will be out and about offering help and support to people who may need it
Drinks
Finally we would urge people to pace their drinks and keep within their own limits so you don't put yourselves in danger robbery or sexual assault
Always remember Manchester is a safe fun and vibrant city and we welcome everyone to our fantastic city to celebrate the festive season
Stay Safe and Don't Become a victim of Crime this Christmas
